    Hi ALL,

We had 2 Windows 2000 server running IIS 5.0. The servers were configured to
be a NLB cluster. Now we would like upgrade the windows 2000 IIS NLB cluster
to Windows 2003 IIS NLB cluster using 2 new servers. Can I simply add 2 new
windows 2003 server running IIS 6.0 into the Windows 2000 IIS NLB cluster
and shutdown those Windows 2000 servers? or I need to upgrade one of the
Windows 2000 server to Windows 2003 and then add new Windows 2003 server
into the existing NLB cluster. Remove all existing Windows 2000 server
    afterwards.

    TIA.

    Hi,

It is not necessary to upgrade Windows 2000 to Windows 2003 NLB. NLB can run
in mixed versions of Windows Servers. You only need to configure this node
using NLB Manager or via command line tools or setting it up locally.
However, NLB Manager is the recommended way to do so.

You can also take cluster node offline (just stop the NLB service on this
host using NLB Manager) and then upgrade it > rejoin back to cluster.
