Hallo, I've a notebook HP Pavilion dv6625el. When I try to use the
integrated webcam with Messenger (v 8.5), it crashes.
I've installed last drivers, but it crashs.
    Some suggestion? Thanks

  3. Greetings,

I assume this is just with the built-in camera in the notebook? And I assume all third-party
applications work with it fine (say skype)?

Yes, the problem is with the built-in camera.
This camera works fine with some not-internet/chat programs. I've not Skype
    or similar... only WinMessenger.

I've tried skype and the camera works fine. Camera doesn't work with
    Messenger (it crashes).
I've downloaded VidCap, an utility for capturing videos, and with this
program I see a black windows (camera doesn't work, but the blue led is on).

  6. I use a HP Pavillion dv6335 with the same problem. Now I know it's a webcam-driver problem and after one year of dicussion with HP with no solution it was driving me crasy. This will cost HP a lot a credits. Finally I found the answer on: http://www.greghughes.net/rant/MyHPPavillionWebCameraIssueResolvedByUsingAcerDriversNoLess.aspx

    I found a 32bit driver on: http://www.notebook-drivers.com/not...ver-v5.7.28.400-for-Windows-Vista_70435.shtml

Acer Aspire 4310 notebook Chicony Crystal Eye Webcam Driver v5.7.28.400 for Windows Vista (32bit), 7359 KB

Now, MSN is working without problems. I can switch from MSN to Skype or using it together without any problems.

    Thank you ACER !!
