    Hello All,
I was performing a drive image restore .... I should have looked a little
further, and I would have seen the warninigs, but I did not :-( and it is
what is is "USN rollback hell, and now need any ideas you can offer.

I have read the KB articles on getting out of this delema.
    If I understand if properly
    1. Transfer the FSMO roles from my 2K3 SBS to another server in the domain
    (2K3 Ent. Edt.)
    2. Demote the 2K3 SBS server ( I don't know if this is possible since it has
to be the forrest root server)
    3. clean up metadata on 2K3 Ent Edt. server.
Then can I promote the 2K3 SBS server back to the FSMO server?

    or
    1. re-install 2K3 SBS and dump back up tape.

Thanks for any ideas, or thoughts.

Yes you may do that way...
Trasffer all the roles from SBS 2003 to the Ent server.. and even make that
    a GC.
Do a dcpromo on the SBS 2003 Box
If the entries are removed automtically from the 2003 Ent server then thats
good, other wise do a metadata cleanup on the Windows 2003 Ent Server

There is a article which will help you a lot :-

    Binu,
One more question, should I have the 2K3 SBS in directory sevices restore
mode, or regular boot up when performing the FSMO transfer, and demotion of
    the SBS server?

    Binu,
I have performed the steps, and I have some ggod news. The 2K3 SBS is now
the FSMO & GC holder. Accounts can auth thru it also.
Unfortunately I am getting Event ID 9157 when Exchg Sys attendant trys to
start it stays in the "starting" state.
I read some articles on the event and I do not see the 2 exchange groups
that the computer should be a member of. Any ideas out of this one?

    Thanks
    MMJII
I also am having issues with WSUS that was insatlled on the server.

    Binu,
I figured out what was the problem with Exchange. The server was not in the
    "Exchg Domain servers" group
As soon as i put it there all was well.
    Thanks again for your assistance.
