When I run SQL SP4 install I get error that this product is not installed.
How can I patch this WSUS's SQL server install to SP4?

  2. Depends on which edition of SQL and which OS you're trying to "upgrade" to
    SP4.

But in general, there are very explicit instructions in the SP4 README file.
I would suggest starting there and following the instructions exactly, one
    step at a time.

  3. So... you have /MSDE/ installed on Windows 2000 Server.

For that configuration, you need to install the /MSDE/ edition of SP4,
which is named SQL2000.MSDE-KB884525-SP4-x86.EXE and available at
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...8D-C20E-4446-99A9-B7F0213F8BC5&displaylang=en

along with the three other editions (32-bit SQL Server 2000, 64-bit SQL
Server 2000, and SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services).

My guess would be that you're trying to apply the 32-bit SQL Server 2000 SP4
    to your MSDE installation.
