  2. Microsoft is not responsible for nVidia's device drivers, contact nVidia
    about the issue.

  6. But aren't all the drivers on the Vista DVD 'signed' and tested by MS?

Some strange nvidia driver bug that causes you to see music notes and and
other things during setup and startup. I'm not very familiar with it because
I haven't seen it, but apparently it has been spotted by a few people.
Microsoft still says that they are unable to reproduce it.

Certainly not a reason to re-release RTM.

Might possibly be a hardware bug?

Hmmm, very interesting. Does it really have any real effect on performance
or usage, or is it simply a minor oddity? I'm not trying to say that it
isn't worth fixing, I'm just curious about the specifics of what is
affected. It is just on startup, correct?

Oh, and I thought it was an enhancment. I see dead notes and stuff, oops
wrong movie. Seriously though, it showed up with RC2, both 64bit and x86. I
had run beta2 and RC1 and didn't see it.
I haven't seen the notes for a while now but the dots or dashes show up at
the top of the display on every boot, just after the hard drives are
    checked.
There's no effect on anything as far as I can tell, just a fleeting glitch.

yep, i've seen it. but i think that was on RC1. not really seen it on RC2.
    nfi on RTM.
besides, it's early days for nvidia drivers atm. they dont even support
    SLI yet.

and why should MS fix and re-release RTM when it's soley related to
nvidia hardware? quite evident from your own statement it's an nvidia issue.

"OMGz, vista dont support SLI from install..... i want a refund!!" - i
    think not!
