I get a message saying microsoft is busy

    How do I fix this? Each time I try and change my buddy
    icon on my preferences- this pops up after I hit icon
    that I wan't. The pc freezes and when I x off this message
    appears- please HELP.

    This is not Windows Update related. What is the buddy icon? Messenger?
