I do not know if it's an issue with Real or with Microsoft.
That is why I have posted on both sites.
The issue is using Windows XP running Windows Internet Explorer 7 Real
Arcade will not update it's game catalog and it presents the following error
    message:

RealArcade is checking for The latest Game News. Downloading the latest
    catalog of games.

RealArcade was unable to intsall Game News because a digital signature could
not be verified. This is possibly caused by an issue with cipher strength in
Microsoft Internet Explorer. Please refer to Microsoft knowledge base
article Q261328 for more information at
    http://support.microsoft.com/directory/article.asp?id=Q261328

  2. Hi

Looks like you recieved an answer in your post to in the Real Arcade forum:

"Just run the RealArcade setup program again and this is solved. Only a
    handful receives this behavior."

    Did you try that advice?

    Good luck,

I clicked yes and the program overridded the original program and once again
I was enabled to run the program and update the catalog of games.

    Thanks for your assist.

I have the exact same problem, I have reinsatlled and uninstalled a thousand
times, but to no avail. I don't quite understand how you have solved the
problem, so would you be so kind as to tell me exactly what to do. I am
running brand new Vista with Norton security? Look forward to hearing from
    you or anyone. Keils xx

  6. I also have had this problem. I have had to buy a laptop and desktop
recently, and had no choice but to buy computers with Vista Home Premium and
IE7 loaded. I was able to install RealArcade on the laptop, but have
experienced issues with the way it runs. For the desktop, I have now tried
redownloading and installing RealArcade many times, and get the same error
you are seeing. It seems very odd that two systems running the same software
would not work the same, and since the advice in the link listed is only for
XP, I don't have any way to fix this. I did notice that the files listed at
the link are not in my windows/system file.

I am not sure that this is an IE7 issue, because I had installed IE7 on my
old desktop with XP (albeit, I installed IE7 after RealArcade), and had no
problems at all. Perhaps Vista has yet another glitch. I must say I am none
too pleased that Microsoft has eliminated the older platforms before Vista
and IE7 were widely supported. It is times like these that make me consider
    becoming a Mac user!

This is the latest post by lookat:
Yesterday I wanted to play an old game, Granny In Paradise, and was also on
line, while RealArcade looked for an update for it's game catalog.
I got a bit impatient because after about 3 minutes nothing was happening.
After I hit Control, Alt, Delete and stopped the program in it's tracks the
same error message came up saying that the program was waiting for me to do
    something.
    Well, that's preposterous.
I have tried to contact RealNetworks to find out if they can email me the
specific issue solution or I will be forced to go with wild games or
Shockwave games to get my games on line.
I will miss the simplicity of RealArcade but until I hear from these fellows
at Real I am still as much in the dark as I was before.
Funny though, I was able to eliminate the problem for a while by
overinstalling RealArcade over itself. Norton Internet Security has my
program enabled and for that matter, the only thing I notice about Internet
Explorer 7 is the phishing filter makes the page take much longer to load
    than not using that filter.
Maybe I should try to go ahead and wait thirty minutes for the RealArcade
Gaming news catalog to load> Hee hee.
