My IE Privacy settings are set to HIGH.

    Under Sites msn.com is ALLOWED.

IE is blocking cookies from www.msnbc.msn.com.

    Why?

How can I fix this so cookies from msnbc.msn.com are allowed?

    Hi b,

I am not sure if this will work or whether it is a ligitimate feature of
    IE7,

I think that you have to select the Advanced button on the Privacy tab of
Internet Options and allow Third-Party cookies.

I would have thought that msnbc.msn.com would be the same as msn.com to the
    browsers privacy settings.

Someone else may have a better fix/explanation.

Please post back if this works (sorry I can't afford the time to test
everything) as I have marked your post and I can do some further research to
    resolve the issue.

    Regards.

    Rob,

Thanks for replying. Unfortunately allowing third party cookies didn't fix
    the problem.

The Privacy Report still shows cookies from www.msnbc.msn.com getting
blocked. This happens when I try to customize and save personalized setting
(e.g., business, weather) on www.msnbc.com. This evidently (?) is the reason
    my settings aren't saved.

    Hi b,

Thanks for the reply. I will spend some time to have a look at the
problem... set up some kind of test on my machine etc.
The only other possibility is that a third-party program is blocking the
cookies (Firewall, Hosts file) or that msnbc.msn and msn are in different
    Security Zones.
There have been some recent changes to msn as it is being re-branded under
the Live banner. I just tried my Hotmail account, but the instructions to
delete cookies has disappeared... you could try deleting your cookies from
msn.com and msnbc.msn.com and try again.

    Regards.

    Rob,

I think the problem is resolved. The stock symbol I was trying to save in
the msnbc personal customizations is getting an error when I tried to save
it. That was causing NO customizations to be saved. The blocked cookies
displayed in the Privacy Report evidently were a red herring. Although it
still doesn't make sense why the report shows cookies from www.msnbc.msn.com
being blocked when msn.com is allowed, that wasn't keeping the customizations
    from being saved.

    Thanks for your time.
