IE 7 Desktop Icon changing to Windows Meida Player 11 icon

    I was wondering if anyone could offer suggestions to resolve. The default IE
    7 icon on my desktop has changed to an icon for a WMP 11 recorded file. I am
    pretty technical but have found no way to resolve this. The only other
    performance issue I have noticed is that I seem to be getting an unregugular
    frequency of svchost errors and ie 7 runs very slow.

    If I un-install ie 7 completely, the regular icon for ie 6 comes back on the
    desktop. When I re-install ie 7, it changes back to the WMP 11 rec icon. I
    know I can create a shortcut to the program and change the icon to an ie one
    of my liking, but I hate not having access to the ie properites from the
    desktop. Any advice?
