IE 7 exits unexpectedly and then restarts browser a million times.

  1. I've been having this strange issue. I run XP- SP2 Home edition and ever
since I upgraded to IE 7 my computer has frozen on several occassions. It
also closes out the IE and then 15 hundred IE pages pop up from no where. I
have to Control- Alt-Delete just to stop it and sometimes that doesn't even
work. I've also noticed my webbrowsing has gone from Broadband fast to
slower than DSL. It take almost a minute to show my home page initially when
before it came up within 20 seconds. This is really annoying, especially
when I'm doing research and have to restart my search because IE7 throws
    errors.

  2. Do a thorough check for malware following all of the steps at one of these

So How Did I Get Infected Anyway?
For quite a few people it's by installing Messenger Plus, whose ads for
malware don't identify the malware as such and try to convince you that you
owe it to the author. See also:

Don't ever do a "default" install of anything. Always choose Custom and see
what else is being carried along. Don't install any extras you're not sure
    of.
