IE 7 suddenly (and consistently) fails on 90% of URLs I try to ope

IE 7 fails with the infamous "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"
message on most of the web sites I visit. It seems to have something to do
with the length and/or content of the URL (example below). There is never
anything wrong with the web site on the other end (it fails the same way on
Microsoft's web site); the only help I can find in a FAQ is "clear cookie and
history and restart", which has no effect at all. The same links always work
w/o problem in FireFox. I have made no hardware, software, or other changes
to my system, other than getting sick of not being able to surf the web for 2
days because of this bug and completely uninstalling/reinstalling IE as a
last resort. It's a bit sad (and extremely frustrating) that I'm having to
use IE's only competitor to post this message or access the web at all.
