Every webpage I visit with IE Explorer v7.0 generates an error in the status
bar. Even for this post an error has been generated. I read somewhere that IE
Explorer should not be apart of a workgroup for it to function properly!!
Does anyone know how to check if XP is part of a work group or not?

Also, Explorer is running very slow when compared to version 6x. I have the
phishing and pop up blocker filters turned off but this doesn’t enhance the
speed, any suggestions here would be much appreciated. The firewall in use is
    CA Personal v9.0

It's time to format your hard disk and reinstall Windows.
Here IE7 works fine and it's very fast

Thanks Bill - I do relise that IE v7.0 is not as perfect as one would
hope…you have quite an amusing perspective which seems to reminisce the MS
position on technical issues..wipe and reload...like I said an error even
    exists for posting this comment.

Unfortunately I don't know how to retrieve this error message as which I
click on it, the text can only be viewed and not copied...if you could tell
me where IE stores it's error log files...I could then post it here and a
more concise breakdown could be achieved.

Helping others is a virtue and so to is educating those of us who are less
    technically minded!!!
