    I have a strange problem. Running I.E. 6 and 7 I have a couple internal
databases that require logins on different ips on our internal network for
example 12.10.x.x would be one if I type the ip into the internet explorer
address bar IE" http://12.10.x.x It gives me error 400 bad request. I can
leave the http:// off same thing. However if I go to start run and type
iexplore 12.10.x.x Boom comes right up no problem. However set a favorite and
try to reaccess it does not work gives me the same error 400 bad request.

Any ideas as to why it will let me open them up with start run but not from
the IE address bar. As for right now. Im using firefox as a work around but I
really dont want to install it on 500 plus computers.

This used to work before I upgraded our machines to IE7

    Hi Lili,

Try adding a port number other than 80. Instead of an internet shortcut
(.url) you could add a program shortcut (.lnk) to your favorites bar. The
Internet Shortcut uses the Navigate2 method while a program shortcut uses
shellexecute to pass the web address to Internet Explorer as a command line
argument (that is why Run: iexplore http://..... works).

    Regards.
