    Just an observation...

Yesterday I uninstalled IE7 which went smoothly.

This morning I have noticed when I have gone to the websites for which
IE7 was storing logon ids and passwords, that both the logon ids and passwords
are all missing. seeming lost in the downgrade from IE7 to IE6

I uninstalled IE7 via the Add/Remove Programs facility

I only had 5 or so logon ids and passwords stored in IE7, so it did not
cause me major problems. I made the posting so that other users can take
care before they go from 7 back to 6, especially if they store many logon ids
    and passwords.

Everything else appreared to be OK - a good sign was the Windows Update Icon
in the system tray informing me that there was an IE update available!

I have discovered one other thing this morning - my Default Web Browser
setting was no longer Firefox - I had changed it to Firefox before I started
on 7 to 6, in case there were major problems with IE.

This morning when I clicked on a link in an email nothing happened.

Simply changing the default back to Firefox does not work.

If you want to keep Firefox as the default, you must first make IE6 the
default browser, and then change it to Firefox.

Again, I just wanted to have my experience posted in case it might assist
    someone
    else at another time
