    Dear all,

Testing our site with IE 7 beta 2 we got a problem :

    On the page :
    http://aide.info/assistance/
we are using CSS display:fixed zones.

With previous IE versions in order to fix the CSS display we used some
computed positioning with "expression" strings :
    <!--[if lt IE 7]><link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css"
    media="screen,projection" href="/assistance/style-ie-fix.css"
    label="Correctif IE" /><![endif-->

Three problems with latest IE 7 beta 2 :

#1 This conditional comment is still "executing" with IE7 beta 2,
applying the CSS fix. But as it was "lt IE 7" we would have expect this
is no more executed in IE7 beta 2 ? Can anyone confirm this ?

#2 Applying this fix, is resulting in bad behaviour of all the
    horizontal "right aligned" box.

#3 Removing the style-ie-fix, will also show a bad positioning in IE7,
which means that the "fixed" is not completely working on Beta 2 :(

    FYI,
This page is perfectly working on :
    - Firefox (any Gecko based browser)
    - Opera
    - Safari
    - IE5.5 and IE6 (using the style-ie-fix.css !!)

But still failing on IE7 beta 2 :(

Any ideas how to sort this out ?

    TM

  2. Hi Testman,

For the conditional comment issue you are missing a closing brace at the end
of the comment. Add the ] after the endif to close the comment. Without that
it is difficult to be specific on the other issues you mention.

    http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2006/04/24/582542.aspx specified methods of
feedback and support for IE7 beta 2 which I recommend you use as we will not
be able to respond to every issue here in the newsgroups.

    Thanks

    Hi Dave,

Thanks for the closing brace missing, it is corrected. But this has not
fix any of the 3 problems reported toward IE7 beta 2.

As a summary there are two bugs with IE7 beta 2 I am repporting :

    - conditional comment with IE version testing : not working (maybe some
    simple things aroung this one)
    - CSS fixed positioning with right alignment (right property set and
other to auto) : not working (some simple fixed computation there)

Feel free to post to whatever internal MS system those two bugs.

If the first one is fixed, the second one will just appear on the
    website given previously.
