    I have been using IE7 (with Vista) for 6+ months with no problem, adding and
    organising my Favorites. The contents of the Favorites Center is now blank,
    I am unable to add a new folder, or favorite, or organise them.

    My Favorites folder still exists on my C: drive, and has contents in it. I
    have also verified the registry setting points to the correct location:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell
    Folders

    I have completed a virus & spyware scan and no problems were found. Can
    anyone help?

    Hi Unique,

    This previous solution may solve your problem also

    this may solve the problem, it did for me.
    right click on start, click on explore, find all files and folders named
    "favorites" may be 3 or 4, right click on each then click properties,click
    location tab then restore at bottom then O.K. it may tell you it can not
    complete, that is O.K. just X out after doing this for each occurance, close
    W-E open IE, click on add to favorites icon then organize favorites. you may
    have to close IE and reopen it for the favorites to appear hope this helps

    Regards.

    Make sure that you have a Desktop.ini file in that directory
    and that it has the expected contents. I don't have your OS
    and don't know if yours will look like mine.

    <Desktop.ini OS="XPsp2">
    [.ShellClassInfo]
    IconFile=%SystemRoot%\system32\SHELL32.dll
    IconIndex=-173
    [email protected],-12693
    </Desktop.ini>

    I guess that one will also require that you have an Environment variable called SystemRoot.
