    Hi All
My IE7 would hang like mad, intermittantly. Sometimes you would get the
can't connect page coming up. As you can expect it was a pain, especially
with a 10 Meg broadband cable connection. You can open multiple pages and
they all hang when you try and navigate from the home page.

To fault find on this problem I did the following: reverted from wifi
connection to network cable connection to my wifi router. Plug straight into
my cable modem (My house hold has 3 computers and this is the only one with
the problem). Followed all the advice on the Microsoft website about
reverting to default settings, clearing out temp internet files, history,
running anti-virus, running anti spy ware, upgrading network card drivers. I
decided to upgrade to IE 8 to no avail BUT here I think is a clue!

When IE8 comes up with the run connection diagnostic wizard, I click the
link and click to start and the page will come straight up in the background
and the wizard doesnt find any problem.

It looks like my IE7 and 8 is locking up but the wizard unlocks
it.........anyone know what the wizard does? Clear some sort of cache? I
really dont know. I e-mailed microsoft and didnt get a very good reply,
talking about I dont think you are eligable for support, go to the knowledge
base (I have tried this and explained it all in the original plee for help!)
AND go to the newsgroups for help, so here it is!

Any suggestion that I have not tried would be greatly apprehiated!

    Thanks in advance

    Andy

other web sites come up in other tabs. If I close IE 8 and reopen it the web

    Hi,

    Windows XP or Vista?

Start Internet Explorer without add-ons from:
Right-click the IE icon on the desktop. Choose Start without add-ons.
    or
    Programs> Accessories> System tools> Internet Explorer (no add-ons)
If the problem goes away, you have an incompatible browser add-on installed.

    For troubleshooting information see:

Sounds like you may have done this, but...
With the warning that a reset will delete autocomplete data, such as
passwords and you will have to reinstall or re-enable browser add-ons, work
    through this article:

Run the free version of SuperAntiSpyware from
    http://www.superantispyware.com/
    and
    Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php
See if those programs find anything your other scans didn't find.

    Hope this helps,
