I'd like to know if we download this tool, will we have to use IE 7.0? My
concern is that I don't want to do that if it means we cannot continue using
IE 6.0 since IE only permits one version to be loaded on a machine at any one
    time.
    Thanking you in advance.

    Hi Sumie,

No you will not have to use IE7 exclusively. You will however (if you are a
web developer) to add IE7 browser compatibility to your test plans.

It depends on your target audience for the applications you develope what
browser types you test for. At http://www.thecounter.com you will find a
breakdown of global browser usage. If you are developing intranet
applications then your target audience should be well known.

You will see that the biggest issue of browser compatibility is adherance to
styling standards. One of the goals of IE7 development is to address these
issues (see http://www.positioniseverything.org ), however the existing
styling features of IE6 SP1 and SP2 will remain so you should continue to
use these browser platforms in your test plans.

Don't forget the KISS principle - Keep It Simple Stupid. Don't go overboard
with styling. The best styling standard to accomodate all browser platforms
is NONE! The User Is King.

    Regards.
