    Hui,

IE 9 is running very very slowly (new problem), but if I start it as administrator, it works at nornal speed.

Can anyone advise and tell me how to get IE runnning at normal speed in usual mode.

    Thanks

Have you run a malware scan lately?

Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools and start Internet
Explorer (No Add-ons)*. Does it run faster now? If so, then it's one (or
more) of your add-ons that's giving you the problem. You can then enable
them one at a time and see if the behavior returns.

    (*Or copy this line

    "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -extoff

and go to Start > Run and paste it there and click OK.)

    Thanks for responding.

    System appears clean.

    It ran faster with no-addons.

I have recently upgraded Shockwave. The shockwave Flash object appeared to be slowing things down, but it now seems to be ok. I can't explain this.

Why would it run faster in administrator mode?

    Best wishes.

Not sure why it would make a difference, unless it has something to do with
it auto-updating itself. I have mine set to "Never update. . ." (I have
Java set that way also.) If I go to a web site that needs a newer release,
then I can go and get it. I don't need it installing Google Chrome or the
Ask toolbar in the background, IYKWIM :)
