Importing bookmarks from Firefox - error converting bookmarks

    I have read all the threads about importing bookmarks from Firefox to IE7;
but unfortunately, none address my problem. When i run the IE 7 import
wizard, i get an popup that says, "Error converting bookmarks." Of, but not
always, another popup appears that says, "A routine error has occurred. Line
567 object doesn't support this property or method. Do you wish to debug?"
I have run the IE 7 import many times, trying to import the Firefox
bookmark.html file from its original location in the Profile folder and from
the desktop, after exporting bookmark.html to that place. Nothing is
working. I have searched the MS KB. I'm getting close to the end of the
road on this one: either build up booksmarks in IE7 from scratch or stick
with Firefox. Any advice appreciated. Thanks, Tuck

Follow the instructions for your version of Firefox to export bookmarks.

I have followed these instructions several times, still getting the same
error message. Firefox exports a bookmarks.html file. IE 7 goes to that
location to import the same file. I have also tried using the IR 7 favorites
wizard to import the Firefox bookmarks.html file from the Firefox profile
folder, again getting the same result.

Thanks for the suggestion. Any others? Tuck

  4. You might take a look at your Firefox Bookmarks and see if any of them have
an extremely long Name. I think there is a 256 character limit on the size
of the name that can be imported into IE.

This would be easy to test if either Browser(by default) had the ability to
    export an individual favorite\bookmark.

Firefox will only export(by default) the top level Bookmark folder and does
not allow for exporting individual subfolders or individual Bookmark.

IE7 will export(by default) the top level Favorites folder or individual
subfolder, but not an individual Favorite.

If you do find that you have a Firefox Bookmark with an extremely long name,
edit that Bookmark to shorten the name and then export the Bookmarks again.
Then try importing the Bookmark.htm file into IE7 using the Import Export

    Good luck,
