Importing .pst files from Outlook into Windows Mail

I just started using Windows Mail in Windows Vista Premium. I would like to
import my old e-mails stored in .pst files in Outlook 2003 but neither
programs offer any support for this. One (unacceptable) method to do this is
to attach my old e-mails into a message in Outlook and mail it to another
account in Windows Mail. Unfortunately, by this method, the received dates in
the mail client are lost (but not the send date inside the message). Since I
have thousands of e-mails, I need the receive dates to do searches or to
    organise my e-mail.
Do you know of a method or software that allows Windows Mail to import
    e-mails from Outlook 2003?

  2. Hello Gilbert,
I managed to do this thanks to the software called "transfert de fichiers et
paramètres windows" in the french version of windows (something like
"transfer of windows files and parameters"), which allows to transfer the
totality, or just a part, following choice made, from a former computer
under XP or Vista, to a new machine (this also works for almost all the
files and softwares of the computer). so I found the whole of my accouts,
adress book, mails, parameters, adustings and so on contained in my "old"
OE, identically organised in my new WM, without doing anything more than
    following the easy instructions of that software;
But this is a "importation-copy" of files, and I don't know if you can use
it in the way you tell.
You can look for "transfert de fichiers et paramètres windows" (or it's
English version) thanks to the search bar.
hope this can be useful to you,

Install Outlook 2003 on the Vista computer, copy the .pst file over.
Open the .pst file in Outlook.
Open Windows Mail, File - Import.

Or, keep using Outlook 2003, as it's better.

Have you tried installing Outlook 2003 or a later version on the Vista
That should be able to import the messages more easily.
