In workgroup, VMs recognize host, but host does not see VMs

Enabling NAT and Loopback adapters, my host and two VMs belong to the same
Workgroup. The Loopback LANs are static, using 192.168.1.xxx addresses.

Clicking "View workgroup computers," the VMs see all three machines, but the
host only recognizes itself. My Network Places on the host shows 0 objects,
but shows all shared folders on the VMs.

How can I get the host to network like the VMs?

This is not unusual with multihomed machines, and has been a problem
since NT days. The computer browser service works on Netbios names. You
could try disabling Netbios over TCP/IP on the host's physical NIC (Advanced
TCP/IP properties/WINS tab) so that only one IP (the loopback interface) is
associated with the Netbios name of the host machine.
