Although solved I cannot explain. I have a new Dell desktop wit
Vista Home Premium SP1 (64) with Workgroups changed to MSHOME to matc
my older Dell running XP-HOme. Vista Networking and Sharing Contro
configured as Private and all Sharing 'On\\\\" except Password. N
problem mapping to my XP's C, D and E partitions. Although Documents an
Setting would open, not the \\\\"myfile\\\\" sub folder where I wante
to view Favorites and move some to my new computer.

After much trial and error found that if I specifically selected th
Favorites folder and under properties chose Sharing and selected optio
to share, I then was successful at least in mapping this folder an
transferring necessary files although I still could not open i
attempted through the mapped C drive where I could not get beneath th
    Documents and Setting folder

Would appreciate anybody who might help explain what certainty turne
out to be a fine workaround for for my proble
