Install ActiveX Control

    When I go to windows update, it says to install activex controll from yellow
    bar under address bar. I have tried everything I know. the yellow bar doesn't
    appear, I cannot play games or anything untill I get this loaded. help me

  3. Same problem here........I am so frustrated! Information from Windows tech
    does not help! Why can't ActiveX Control be installed without so many steps?

    try restarting IE8 with right click and do not hit "run without add-ons",
    then find windows update under the tools menu and click on that. Seemed to
    work for me

  11. I had no problem last week on 10/3/09 when I went to Microsoft Update. Never
    had this problem until today (10/10/09). It's just as everyone is
    describing. Right clicking on the Information Bar does not open anything
    that includes "Install ActiveX Control". All add-ons are enabled although
    the Information Bar says they're not.
    I hope someone at Microsoft is reading our messages. Maybe they can make
    it possible to get to the Update page by correcting the glitch.

    I've been having the same problem. After reading your post, I tried it and
    the same thing happened. It worked and I can now do my windows update.
