This is not another question as to whether VPC will support x64 guests (it
    will not).

However, if the host is an x64 machine (e.g., XP Pro x64) will there be
significantly better performance if I install the x64 version of VPC 2007
versus the "regular" x32 version? Has anyone seen any benchmarks?

First off, I don't think you can install the 32-bit version on an x64
host, but I can't say as I've tried. And no, there wouldn't be much
of a performance difference if you could.
