I have installed the 8/20/2007 IE6 VPC Image which is bundled with xp sp2. I
can't get IE 6 to connect. I can ping from the command line of the guest pc,
and I can download mail in Outlook express so I know my Internet connection
    is working.

My host computer is running XP2 SP2 also.

    Any help would be appreciated!

Found the answer on the IEBlog five minutes after posting. Here it is:

The IE6 image has a hardcoded proxy server address (haven't checked the IE7
image), so if you're having connectivity issues, follow these steps:

    1. Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections -> LAN Settings

    2. Untick "Use a proxy server for your LAN" option

    3. Click OK

It worked! Thank you Derek on IEBlog.
