2000I installed a new server at one of our offices to replace a 2000 DC that
was starting to fail. After a successful install of a 2003 server I ran
dcprome on the new server, rebooted then ran dcpromo on the old 2000 DC to
demote and eventualy remove it from our network.

I'm having problems with the new 2003 servers replication. When I look
under the properties of the NTDS Site Setting for this site the Inter-Site
Topology Generator Server and Site both show Invalid.

Is there a way to change these settings ?

  2. That value would be changed by the DC that assumes the role on itself and it
would replicate out from there. Check the NTDS Settings object for that site on
the DC and look specifically at the interSiteTopologyGenerator attribute.

I would expect you have replication issues that cause you to not see the istg
properly versus the istg not being properly viewable causing issues.
