hi all, i sent this to MS and got nothing helpful back, hopefully you maybe
    able to?

after a while of using IE for some reason it stops working. i try to click
on a link or go to a new site, and it hangs trying to get there before
displaying windows cannot display this webpage. this has happened on ie 7 and
ie 8. i try to use the diagnose problem button and it says everything is
running fine. i then close IE and reopen and it hangs trying to get to my
homepage and again it cannot find it. same issue as above. sometimes there is
even a ie process still running even though all IE windows are closed.

i am still connected to the web and the local network. and for some reason i
can still use windows live messenger without any issues, however cannot use
windows live mail? (could it be dns servers?). i have tried - disabling add
ons and it still happened, i have tried resetting all the ie options back to
original settings. there is no ip conflict or any issues with the network,
which is why i can still connect to windows live messenger and use it
    perfectly.

i have made sure i have done all the updates availible and i even did a full
system reboot recently to make sure it wasnt a virus. i use zone alarm and
avg. zone alarm is allowing IE and everything is ok.

there is no crash report as im closing it. and the only way to get to use IE
again is do a restart, which sometimes takes time to close/finish the task.

    im using vista

    any ideas

  4. By "sent this to MS" if you mean you sent an error report,
be aware that those are sent anonymously, so of course
you would get "nothing helpful back" because there would be
no way of contacting you. ; )

That actually is saying more about your undisclosed home page
than about IE. Unfortunately the diagnose button does not refer
to the problem site, only microsoft sites, which you evidently do
    not have a problem with.
