Are you able to get an IP address from the access point that you're
    connected to?
If you're using a router with wired ports, try connect your notebook with a
wired connection and see if you can connect to the Internet.

If you're able to connect using a wired connection, then try again with the
wireless, and see if you get a valid IP address from the router. If you
don't get a valid IP address check your wireless network adapter's TCP/IP
settings and make sure you've select obtain an IP address. Hit OK. Then try
    again.

If that doesn't work, then check if you have any 2.4GHz devices such as
microwaves, cordless phones that might be interfering with your wireless
signal. You can also try changing the wireless channel on your access point
to avoid some of the interference.
