Is it a good idea to allow WSUS to download & install SP's?

    Hello all,
I am configuring what I want WSUS to download during sync.
I don't need thing like Windows x64 updates, or cluster ..etc.
Is there a way to isolate these updates from downloading during WSUS
    syncronization?
Also what are thoughts on installing SP's using WSUS?

    Thanks for thoughts.

  3. I don't see any reason to download updates for products you're not running.
Whenever they add new applications, I just run down the list to see if
there's anything I should be enabling.

I let WSUS do service packs - in fact, I get everything through WSUS except
drivers. I don't allow anything to auto-install on servers, so although I
have downloaded and approved WS03 SP2, it's only installed on servers where
I have manually installed it. The others still show the yellow shield and
    the SP as "needed."
