It *looks* like it's playing but it doesn't *sound* like it...

    WMP10 is not getting the sound from the player to the speakers somehow. All
    other sounds programs on the computer work, but in WMP no sound comes out
    even though the visualizations and everything else seem to work fine. I've
    reinstalled the audio driver and have no change. I've run out of ideas to fix
    it...
    Help?

    No, that would be way too easy. It turned out to be either
    WindowsMediaConnect or MicrosoftMusicService programs causing the problem. I
    uninstalled those two and the sound came back. :)
