    Hi there,

    Existing domain configuration:
DC1 Win2000 server AD (operation master, with GC)
DC2 Win2003 server SP1 AD with Exchange2003 (with GC) <-- I know this is not
    recommended.

I am going to replace DC1 to Win2003 server into a new hardware and keep DC2
unchanged. After googling the groups, I came up with the following steps to
    make this success.

    1. run Adprep/forestprep on Win2000 DC
    2. install Win2003 on a new server
    3. promote Win2003 server as an additional DC
    4. AD-Integrated DNS on Win2003
    5. move the GC to the new server
    6. move FSMO to the new server
    7. test to make sure everything is OK
    8. demote Win2000 DC

Since I have installed Exchange2003 a long time ago where adprep/forestprep
have already been done on my Win2000 server, and I have done Step 2,3 and 4
    already.

My question is: Am I simply continue from Step 5 to Step 8, that's it? or
    something that I have missed.

    Regards

    Simon

    Hello,

    Thanks for posting!

Yes, I think you don't need to run Adprep /forest since you have alrealy
extend the AD schema when you installl DC2 Win2003 server SP1 AD. You may
    simply go further.

    Best Regards,
