I too had the same problem, at least I had the very same symptoms as
libraladysarah. I tried your suggestion, Alex N., and it worked... after I
took care to select the right language (for me: Dutch).

Note: this manual fix does not show in the MS Update history; should I be

    Anyway: thanks

Yes, it became possible to avoid error code 0x80242006 and to download
BUT it did not help to install this upgrade. Now KB913446.exe reports that
installation is impossible due to diffrent languages used in KB913446 and my
WinXP (atually basic language in my WinXp is Russian).
    Best greetings to Bill Gates!!!

I sure am. Tried 4 times every whch way to download this and it won't
work. Sent email to MS telling them, then discovered it is me and the
rest of the world. Can't even find a reference to it on their site!
Is it a Valentine's Day joke???

    Hi, all;

As you have seen, there was a problem with KB913446 when first showing up
yesterday (14 Feb 06). The problem was fixed yesterday evening, so anyone
who attempted the update prior to around 8:30 PST (USA Microsoft/Redmond, WA
time) should now visit the MU website and give it another try.

BTW, once MS was made aware of the problem they worked diligently to make
the fix. Witness that by the 8:30 PM fix time, much later than the normal
"go home" time for most MS folks. This kind of thing does happen at times
on all (!!!) servers, and I'd offer kudo's to the MS MU team for staying
late and getting it fixed as soon as they did.

Note: Any of you using WSUS or SMS or similar should re-synch and re-get
KB913446, approve it, then SOP from there to push it out.
