    Richard,

You are absolutely correct and I was able to take it a step further.

After I removed Spybot 1.4 I ran a program called "Registry Mechanic". After
    that WM worked perfectly.

Thank you for point me in the right direction.

    Richard,

In Spybot, under Immunize there is an 'undo' button. I just clicked on the
'undo' button and it removed 17000+ immunization points.
    And, it seemed to work.

Have tried that this morning. And certainly has got things back to normal.
Will be interested to see if it causes any other problems.

I tried this, then installed the update - still had the problem with
Win Mail. Since I rarely use IE, I am content to leave the update
uninstalled. I might try again when the next version of Spybot
    comes out.

SpywareBlaster also adds the offending entry(s) too.

Has anyone taken the time and energy to find out which entries are doing the
    dirty work?

    spywareblaster.

Same problem with windows mail after KB931768

After disabling all protection in spywareblaster windows mail runs fine now.

  9. I am new to Vista and just installed the updates last weekend. Lo and
behold, I have frustrating text delays when using mail and composing e-mails.
    I don't use
Spybot. How can I fix this headache?

  10. Try opening Windows Calendar and see if that fixes the problems.

  13. To remove a Windows Update, go to Control Panel, Programs
and Features, in the left pane click on "View installed updates".
    The rest is self-explanatory.

Richard, thanks so much for the spy-boot info. what a bummer!! Big time as u
know. I also liked spy-boot program. I was going crazy with this mess trying
to delete contacts in vistas windows mail. Hour's on the phone with 2 Dell
Techs. and they ended up with, (get back 2 u friday, today) couldn't help.
Now also my, I call it, "go back". which is, systems restore. When I try &
run it it tells me, none of your files have been changed do to an error
during running this program. I tried 3 times now. So if Dell calls back
tonight, this is what we r going to work on. I had one major fix left with
Dell and that is, if I remember right, 4 $ 120+ you get 3 major fixes and if
one of then can B fixed fast, then its called a minor fix at no cost. I
bought a new Dell Dimension E521 March of 07. After 2 weeks with it, it
crashed! It had came with a 6-mos. free McAfee program. I was running McAfee
and the puter froze up and short of a sledge hammer, it wasn't coming
un-froze!! So 9 hrs. on the phone with Dell we wipped it clean and started
over. To date it been good untill now and this spy-boot thing and I share
this puter with a 28-yr. old daughter, Nadine & two Grand kids, Janel 8 &
Jonathan 6 with their own desk tops. They all r pretty good. Well thank God
Richard for people like u. Here is my e-mail if you care to write me, Im
Gene, at in California. Hope 2 hear from u soon. Can u
tell me if I download this new live window mail, will I B able 2 delete
Windows mail from my puter? Please let me know, & again, thanks for the
spy-boot info. Gene. P.S. Richard, when Im in the windows (WINDOWS VISTA
COMMUNITY) Everything I type I get an error message, check spelling, etc. and
I mean everytime. What am I doing wrong?? Like "search for; (ill type delete
    contacts in windows mail, vista) then in the next space where it starts in;
ill click windows mail & contacts, then click on GO. always the error
message, try different words, etc, etc. Can u halp here?? Later

Windows Mail is a part of Vista and very hard to delete without doing
the same to the rest of Vista. However, you can remove the accounts
under it, which will keep it from doing much if it runs. Also, you can
    delete any shortcuts for it.

Windows Live Mail will help you hide Windows Mail, but will not
    delete it.

Richard, I am using a Dell DimensionE521 Vista supreme. Ive been having
issues with Vista. Yes I HAD Spy Boot search & Destroy. Dell Tech. wipped my
PC clean. But in just 7-days some of the issues I was having with Vista or
Spy Boot came back. We did a special systems\
scan, that Dell did. We kept getting messages that Adobe Reader 8. was
causing a conflict. To remove it manually. Where Adobe Reader 8. came from, I
have no Idea. Ive always have had Adobe Reader 7. last time I looked. Anyway,
the scan Dell did showed corrupe files on my hard drive. Well the scan said
it fixed some of the problem but some couldnt be fixed. So Dell turns me over
2 another Dell Tech. and he tells me, "dont pay attention to the scam the
other Tech. did. Your problem is with Adobe Reader. So he deleted it, Adobe
Reader. So now I cant do nothing on my pc because when I open up Mozilla it
is telling me I must down load Adobe Reader 2 go any further. That just one
program. Alot of other things I cant do with out Adobe Reader. I hade Adobe
Reader on my ol=d PC that was built with old parts I got here and there. I
never had a problem with Adobe Reader, EVER!! Where do I go -from here. My
year warrantee runs out next month and I want Dell to pay for two new hard
drives if they must be replaced. Please contact me Richard at my e-mail
address, or anyone else that has some helping words for me, LOL,
