    Weird client problem.
Hard drives were manually marked for chkdsk on the next reboot. Reboot was
suppose to happen during the night but it was rebooted during business hours.
Normally you could "press any key" during the 10 seconds and it will skip
the disk check. At that point the keyboard dies and the timer times out and
the chkdsk starts. Up until the countdown prompt, the keyboard works. Can
get into bios, press F8 to choose safe mode, ect, and keyboard works during
    recovery console.
We have tried different keyboards (PS2 and USB). I got into the recovery
console and the EMS was disabled.
Short of letting it run the chkdsk for hours, I am not sure what else to do.

    Any Ideas?

  2. Hello Customer,

    Thank you for posting here.

From your post, I understand that when attempting to press a key to cancel
chkdsk, the keyboard does not work.

Firstly I would like to confirm if the issue happens every time regardless
    which keyboard you use.

In addition, when the timer appears, if you press Num Lock key, does the
    keyboard response?

If not, it can be caused by a hardware issue.

Further more, does the keyboard work before? If yes, what changes were made
    before the issue happens?

Can chkdsk finish the work properly?

If you have any concern, please feel free to let me know.

    Best regards,
