I have a customer who has installed Vista 64bit Pro version on his computer
but after loading the extra function keys he is now locked out because even
in safe mode it asks him to type in his admin password and the keyboard wont
work he has tried shutting down & plugging in a standard keyboard but that
doesn't work either. Can anyone help as he has an important assignment to get
    out
    thanks for any help

Try the on screen keyboard. You can access this from the ease of access
button on the lower left of the welcome screen.

I have the same problem as the person who posted before, with thi
wrinkle: I have tried the onscreen keyboard to login, and it doesn'
respond. The only buttons on the screen that are responsive are th
shutdown and login for the default administrator "user" account.
cannot get into my main account because Vista no longer register
keystrokes in the login shell. I have tried a different keyboard withou
luck, though it is apparent that my original keyboard works fine anywa
because that is what I am using now to type this from the "user
account, which didn't have a password (luckily) or I'd be locked out o
    the system

I tried a system restore to a few days ago, but it didn't help at all

  4. Are you able to log in via safe mode?
