  1. "Did prevent" may have been a better choice of words. The federal government is
appealing a judges ruling to that effect, presently.

Wish I could say the same. :-(

Well golly gee, how in the world did we ever manage to survive without the
great Karl E. Peterson providing his rules on how this news group should be
Sorry Karl, but there is a dedicated core of folks (some MVPs, some not)
who contribute here on a regular basis without any kind of name calling or
flaming. Seems to me, from the positive feedback we receive, that things
are working just fine without your input. The core of us will just keep on
keeping on. You can keep your advice to yourself as it obviously is neither
    required nor wanted.
This group functioned quite well before your appearance and will continue
to do so after you're gone.

Here's what I wrote to a friend some time ago:

A few days ago I saw the passing of an old friend:

One of computers finally got sent down the river:

1996 Celeron II 466 MHz, NT 4 work-station: wobbling along
Floppy disk was no longer functioning 6-7 years ago, even with viagra
CD reader/writer went blind 3 years ago
The bootup disk took 5-7 attempts to get out of bed in the morning.
The 2nd hard drive was beginning to show symptoms of dementia, by
losing bits I had stored on it recently.
Getting a bit old, and slow compared to today's youngsters.
Unable to use modern electronic equipment.
Overheating just by waking up in the morning.

    Does that satisfy you?

  7. Just a boatload of bullying, I know. That's what I was commenting on.
As I said, I find *lots* of positive stuff here, as well! No doubt about it.

I know you're not so ignorant as to believe that bad cannot coexist with good,

There's definitely a *bit* of bad mixed in. Nothing to be ashamed of.

Or are you opposed to "better"?
You got a mouse in your pocket?
    Deal with it.
More bullying. You are quite the act, Paul!
