<<<Latest Update Provided by Microsoft on the SBS2003 Blue Screen Issue>>>

Discussion in 'Windows Small Business Server' started by Ray Fong [MSFT], Apr 3, 2004.

  1. Hello all,

Based on the memory dump, we have identified the blue screen is caused by
"TmXPFlt.sys". This file belongs to TrendMicro and it is dated Mar 30
    04:35:10 2004.

We will report this issue back to Trend Micro for further analysis. If you
run into the problem at this point, please contact TrendMicro for further
    assistance.

    Thanks,

    Hmm...

    http://kb.trendmicro.com/solutions/solutionDetail.asp?solutionId=19293

Trend Micro plans to release Scan Engine 7.0 in ActiveUpdate according
    to this schedule:

    Japan: Apr 1 10:00 am (GMT+8)

    Global: Apr 2 10:00 am (GMT+8)

I got updated yesterday, and today had a BSOD. How about everyone
    else?

Thank you all for posting your comments, questions and files to help bring
this issue to a closing. Boy I thought I was alone this morning, I was ready
    to start replacing hardware.

Do we know at this point whether this file causes a blue screen just the one
time, or will this happen repeatedly? Do we need to do/disable anything?

I know this isn't a Trend newsgroup, but it's the closest thing there is to
    one.

  5. I guess that I don't feel so bad that I have not received my Activation Code
from Trend. However, since the PO was dated 17-MAR-04, and the charge is on
my credit card, I am beginning to wonder if I should contest the charge
until they actually send me the code.

  6. FWIW -- I purchased a Trend CSM license thru SoftChoice this past week for a
customer site, on Mar 31st. On April 2nd I called then and said I needed the
licenscode to be emailed to me. By the end of the day on the 2nd I had
    received it from Trend.

  7. I wish my experience had been so fortunate. I bought it on-line from the
Trend site, and Trend technical support has been brain-dead, and the
sales-support have all been out to lunch, as far as I can tell. I am going
to have start the squeaking wheel again, because they have dropped the ball
    since my last message.
