A friend has purchased a new Notebook computer. She has asked me to\ninstall the correct printer drivers.\n\nThe operating system on her previous computer was Windows XP. The\noperating system on my friend's new computer is Vista Home Premium - but\nshe does not know whether she has a 64-bit or a 32-bit processor.\n\nLexmark have published drivers for Vista_x64 and Vista_x86. The x64\nversion is cjs2300EN.exe (61.0 Mb). The x86 version is cjr2300EN.exe\n(43.4 Mb).\n\nUntil I see the computer, I won't know which driver I should install.\nConsequently, I have downloaded both drivers.\n\nI shall need to find out whether my friend has a 32-bit or 64-bit\nversion of the Vista operating system. I shall be grateful if someone\ncould tell me the easiest way to identify the operating system.\n\nI intend to create a restore point, before I install the printer\ndrivers. Is the procedure for creating a restore point in Vista the\nsame as for Windows XP?\n\nAlso, should I connect and switch on the printer, BEFORE I install the\ndrivers - or should I run the exe files first?\n\nMany thanks.
