    Hi,

A clients wants me to create a VHD image of Windows XP SP2 with some
software they want to test on it. Do they need to buy another copy of
Windows XP to install in this VHD or can they use the existing copy they
    own?

Assuming that you don't need a new license, is there any VHD images already
created which contain Windows XP Pro SP2 already setup that I can just
    download and customize?

    Thanks

  2. Yes, they need a new license and if they want to run more than one copy of
this stuff, then they need more than one license, too.

There is an available image with a pre-activated copy of WinXP SP2 for
    testing of IE6 available at:
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...90-958F-4B64-B5F1-73D0A413C8EF&displaylang=en

However, this image will expire on 07/23/2007.

If this is for short term testing, then maybe you could get on with sending
them a not-activated image of WinXP.
