This may or may not help others out: I had activated yesterday, and now after a little playing I received the above error when logging on. When clicking the contact MS button, I am able to get Opera (my default browser) open by clicking "search knowledgebase". From here I was able to get Explorer.exe (c:\windows\explorer.exe) to load from Opera. This now gives me a task bar, etc. I am unable to open the control panel to reactivate (It opens then closes very quickly). I do however have a semi functional computer. Steps leading to this problem were an uninstall of Trend PC-Cillen 14 Beta trial, and an install of Kaspersky Personal 6.0.0.300. When I was able to get the task bar up, opened Kaspersky, updated, then disabled Proactive defences. Rebooted, and all appears well.
