licensing - per device vs. per user

    i still don't quite understand the licensing - per device
    vs. per use. can someone explain that to me in leiman
    terms?

  2. Hi CCCB,

    A very very basic answer:

    If you have users that want to be able to login from a workstation, and a
    remote workstation (at home or anywhere in the world), and/or a mobile
    device, you will probably want user cal's.

    If you have only e.g. 10 workstations and 30 users (working in shifts), you
    will probably want device cal's.

  3. a CAL is a label.

    A USER CAL gets attached to the forehead of the user, this user can legally
    access SBS resources from any equipment.
    A DEVICE CAL gets attached to a device (computer), any person can then
    access SBS resources via the device without requiring additional licensing.
