Live Communication Server 2005 on a SBS2003

Discussion in 'Windows Small Business Server' started by Clas Pettersson, Dec 16, 2004.

  1. Hi,

I'm trying to install LCS 2005 SE on my SBS2003 server.
Everything goes well exept for the fact that I can't connect from my
    clients.
Getting an error that the SIP service is not running.
I have followed the documentation from Live Com's homepage and can't find
    anything I could have missed.
Also checked the Live Communication server forums but didn't find anything
    usefull there.

My SBS is a swedish version but that should have anything to do with it.

    Regards

  2. Two things.

    1. you may have to adjust your internal DNS name to include a record
    for your IM address.
    2. Ensure that on XP sp2 that "Windows messenger" is allowed through
    the firewall.

  3. I checked again in the Live comm forum and now I found the answer that worked
    for me.

    The SIP user names was
but if I right clicked "Forest - domain.local" in Live the live com admin
tool and checked the properties the domain name was domain.local. So I added
    domain.se and then I could connect :)

    Thank for the help
