Longhorn 4074 display and sound

Discussion in 'Virtual PC' started by Enrique Blanco, May 8, 2004.

  1. I've just installed Longhorn build 4074 on a virtual
machine. But when I finally got to the desktop, the
display is on 4-bit colours (it means awful) and there is
    no sound.

Windows keep asking me about soundblaster 16 drivers.
Also when I try to update the display driver, it seems
there's no driver database in the iso image of Longhorn.

Anyone who installed LH and tell me if there's a
    workaround on this? Thank you

  2. Hi,

Install VPC additions and you will get the right video drivers

Sound's a no-go, but if you have an XP machine on your network you can try
pointing the hardware wizard to \\xpmachine\c\windows\inf as the location
for drivers. It might work. I haven't tested it on 4074 yet
