Hi. All of a sudden, all the emails in the all inbox under quickviews has
disappeared. However, the emails are still in the inboxes of the individual
account. I have tried turning it off and on again, but it remains empty.
Any way to get them back all in that one view? Thanks

Thanks for the explanation, Peter. I was also having this issue.
I think the so-called "final" version of WLM is buggy as hell.
The beta version worked much better. I hope they come out
with a new version that fixes all bugs.

Thanks Peter I had the same problem and it was fixed with your trick, after
investing a fair amount of time to fix it.
    Thanks loads

thanks Peter for this concise fix! after being completly unable to identify
why this was happening and not finding a fix I started by googling and found
a mirror of your explanation at eggheadcafe.com but missing the sentence:
    "SearchFolderVersion" under the registry key

I always get at least 3 opinions before registry edits and thought I'd
mention this ommision in my thanks. it should also be noted that this dosn't
fix the problem immediatly on restart of WLM, rather after a couple of
minutes while it's rebuilding the cache.

    Hi Peter

Just wanted to say thank you also for the solution here. I've had to use it
several times over the past few months. It would be nice if there was an
actual fix for it soon though from Microsoft. Hopefully other people can find
this solution too and know how to access it.

    Thanks again.

    Hello Peter,
Thanks so much for your help. Have just started using WLM and it's great
but this morning the useful Quick Views was empty. Found out to fix this in
regedit though - me not a computer buff. Still can't find out what storage
folders are - having searched everywhere for the info.

    Dear Peter,

Could you elaborate how to delete the registry value. I am a computer dummy.

Repairing Windows Live Mail Quick Views Counter
    http://liveunplugged.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!F92775FC46A390CA!205.entry

    1. Close WLM
    2. Open Regedit
    3. Start/Run/Regedit
    4. Navigate(in the left hand pane) to the following location:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail\
    5. Click on Windows Live Mail(left hand pane) to reveal the key's content
    6. Using the cursor/scroll bar(right hand pane) find the entry 'SearchFolderVersion'
    - This entry is in the field/column with a header titled 'Name'
    7. Click on 'SearchFolderVersion' to highlight that single key
    8. Delete the entry 'SearchFolderVersion'
    9. Close Regedit
    10. Open WLM
    - the registry key will be recreated and WLM will poll for unread messages

    Note of Caution:

    - Registry editing can create serious problems if used incorrectly. Proceed with the above at your own risk.

    Peter,

You are the man! I found this answer on the first search, which is usually
not the case when it comes to computer glitches.

    Thanks again!
