I was downloading songs off of Kazaa for my brother, and once I got
all of them I made his playlist and then burned them onto a cd - after
it burned I deleted his playlist which is what I wanted. But then when
I clicked on MY playlist titled "Meg's Main Songs" and this
    error-from-hell came up:

"A generic parse error occurred in the XML parser but no information
    is available

    Close Web Help"

So I click on web help, and it says:

"You have encountered the following error while using Windows Media
    Error# C00D0FB6

Sorry, no more help is available for this problem at this time."

    Then I got into My Music from the Start button, find the playlist;
right click on it and click "play" and up comes Windows Media
    Player(series 9 btw)and it says:

"Windows Media Player cannot play the file because associated playlist
    is not valid"

I then click on the More Info button and it comes up and says:

    Cannot play this file
Windows Media Player cannot play this file because the associated
Windows Media metafile playlist is not valid.

A metafile is a file that contains information about other files. A
Windows Media metafile playlist, a file with an .asx, .wax, .wmx, or
..wvx extension, can be used to instruct the Player to play a group of
digital media files in a specific order. Metafiles are usually created
by a content provider, such as an Internet radio station.

If you created the metafile, verify that it contains items. For
information about creating valid Windows Media metafiles, see the
Windows Media Player Software Development Kit (SDK) at the Microsoft
    Web site.

    Error ID = 0xC00D119D, Condition ID = 0x00000000"

Alright since I not very computer savy this might as well be French to
me. This is REALLY bothering me, I didn't lose the songs just the
playlist and probably, I'd say there were 250 to 300 hundred songs on
it. So if ANYONE out there can tell me how to get it back, I would be
forever greatful. Sorry this was so long.

P.S. I looked up an old message about this that said maybe downloading
the new version of IE would help but I did that and it didn't.
