I posted this earlier but the response was not a
possibility with the setup of SBS 2003 at the individual
    desktop level.

I was wondering if anyone has the following situation, the
Public contacts is the main contacts for the office, the
profile contacts is not really used by individuals.

We want only one place for input but all 4 people, i.e.
    the Public Contact folder.

If we can't make the Public contacts folder the default
for each individual profile (any further suggestions ?)
then is there a 3rd party application that anyone knows
about that would regularly sync the Public contacts folder
with each individual profile contact folder ?

    Thanks.

You could create a shortcut to the public contacts folder
and then make it your default address list by selecting
address Book,Tools, Options and selecting it as the first
address book to use. You would at least not have to
    navigate through folders.
    Hope this is some help.

  3. Why not just add a shortcut to the PF contacts folder so it's easier to
access, and have everyone add it as an Outlook Address Book in their mail
profile so you can do lookups to it in new messages?

You can't make the PF contacts folder the default, can't get rid of mailbox
contacts, and if you had everyone sync to their personal contacts (presuming
you could even do this with third party addins) you would likely just end up
with a bunch of conflict messages.

Just train people how to use the PFs and tell them not to use their personal
contacts for anything but just that - personal contacts. It's not hard.

Thanks, but I think the main complaint from the "users" is
that when they write an email the auto-insert does not
work as its using the individual profile contacts vs. all
of the contacts input to the public folder - however I
    will try your suggestion.

But where do I put the shortcut, in the user profile
under / near the profile contacts ?

    Thanks

That works, but I think the issue is that for individual
profiles, when creating a new email, they have to type the
email address of a often emailed person because the email
address is actually in the Public contact folder and not
    the "default"

Any thoughts on resolving this issue and everyone will be
    quite happy.

    Thanks

  6. If they've added the PF as an address book, Outlook will resolve to it quite
    happily.
