Managed Folders will not be renamed until your system administrator runs the managed folder assistan

Discussion in 'Windows Small Business Server' started by Bikini Browser, Aug 19, 2009.

  1. I am using SBS 2008 Outlook Web access. My customer was expermenting and he
chose Spanish for his Language the first time he opened OWA. Now he wants to
set it back to English. I opened his account in OWA and looked under
regional settings and there was a message that said: Language settings don't
match (or something like that) and click here to setup the language to the
same as your chosen Language. After I saved it, I got a new message that
said "Your changes were not saved because of a Microsoft Exchange error." I
looked deeper into it and I foiund the following... "Managed Folders will
not be renamed until your system administrator runs the managed folder
assistant. Where is the Managed Folder Asssistant and how do I set the
Langauge back to English for this user?

    Thanks in advance

  2. Hello Dale,

    Thanks for your post.

Before Exchange 2007 , Http header defines languages for OWA, so the language settings are configured on the client. As for Exchange 2007, we can on the server use set-
mailbox -identity "mailbox" -language "fr-FR" to configure OWA language. Please check if the following articles helps:

Language setup for a mailbox with Exchange Server 2007

    Hope it helps.

  3. - You can use set-mailbox to set the language or the user can select from
    Outlook/OWA.

    - Managed Folders can have localized folder names and folder comments for
managed folders (configured by the administrator using
New/Set-ManagedFolder). When you run the MF assistant again, it will rename
the managed folders based on mailbox locale and corresponding localized
managed folder name (if configured for that locale).
