max-, min-height and width

The 'height' and 'width' properties now work as per W3C recommendations -
great. But without max- and min- height and width, the situation becomes
unworkable. Yes, microsoft have provided a scripting solution for sized
divs, but this would mean adding browser detection to sites where it should
not be needed, and it only works on elements with an id: what if there are
multiple divs of the same class with different amounts of content in each on
    a single page?

IE7 should be about allowing web developers to remove hacks - this debacle
with height and width will force more hacks upon developers to accommodate a
    non-compliant browser.
