I am installing MCE 2005 from the disks on a new system. During the install,
it prompts me to put in a SP2 disk cause it needs some updated files. What's
up with that? Of course, it can't find the files it is looking for and the
setup fails. My OEM package of MCE 2005 did not come with a SP2 disk,
further, I thought it was built on SP2, so I don't see the need for the disk.

  2. Are you sure it isn't asking for the second CD? Where exactly did you
get these disks. If they are from your OEM, you may need to have MCE
2004 with SP2 installed before you can use the MCE 2005 disk to upgrade.
The best source of support is going to be your OEM if that is possible ;)

When asked this question you need to put the first disk of
the installation set back in. It's a little vague in the
wording but that is what it is looking for.
